Draft for review. This is a plain-language draft written before launch. It has not yet been reviewed by a lawyer and may change before Ansa accepts paying customers.
Ansa (“we”) helps small businesses answer customer questions using their own information. This page explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have. If anything is unclear, email hello@ansaapp.com.
The short version
- We only use your business content to answer your customers.
- We never use your content or your customers’ conversations to train AI models.
- Each business’s information is kept separate from every other business.
- You can delete your sources, or your whole account, at any time.
- We don’t sell data and we don’t run advertising trackers.
What we collect
Your account. Your email address, name (if you give it) and business name, so you can sign in and manage your assistant.
Your business content. The website pages, documents, text and question-and-answer pairs you add. We store the original files and the text we extract from them.
Customer conversations. The questions visitors ask your assistant, the answers it gives, which of your sources were used, any thumbs up or down, and the time. Visitors don’t need an account; we use a random identifier stored in their browser to group a conversation.
Usage and technical data. Counts of answers used against your plan, and basic technical information (such as IP address) used briefly to prevent abuse and enforce rate limits. Our error logs do not contain message content.
How we use it
- To find the most relevant parts of your information and write an answer for your customer.
- To show you conversations, unanswered questions and usage in your dashboard.
- To enforce plan limits, keep the service secure and fix problems.
- To contact you about your account and important changes to the service.
AI processing
To write an answer, we send the visitor’s question and the most relevant passages from your content to an AI model provider (currently Google’s Gemini API) under terms that do not permit them to use it to train their models. Ansa treats your content and visitors’ messages as information, never as instructions that can change how the assistant behaves.
Where data is stored
Your account, content and conversations are stored with Google Cloud (Firebase). Service providers who host or process data for us only do so to run Ansa. Before paid launch we will publish the regions we use and our list of sub-processors.
How long we keep it
We keep your content and conversations while your account is open so the assistant keeps working. When you delete a source, its text and files are deleted. When you delete your account, we delete your workspace, assistant, sources, files and conversations. We will publish specific retention periods, including for backups, before paid launch.
If you run a business on Ansa
You decide what information the assistant uses and you control the conversations with your customers. Please tell visitors that they are chatting with an AI assistant (the widget labels itself), and don’t upload sensitive personal information, such as health or financial records, that your customers wouldn’t expect a public assistant to know.
If you chatted with a business’s assistant
The business you were chatting with is responsible for that conversation, and Ansa processes it on their behalf. To ask for a copy or deletion, contact the business, or email us and we will help.
Cookies and browser storage
We use only what’s needed to run the service: keeping you signed in, and an anonymous visitor identifier in the chat widget. We don’t use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export or delete your personal data, and to object to how it is used. Email hello@ansaapp.com and we will respond within 30 days. You can also complain to your local data-protection authority.
Changes
If we make meaningful changes we will update this page and tell account holders by email before they take effect.
